Roma
Steam Room
If you want a steam room to enjoy with family and friends at home,
there is no better choice than Helo's Roma Steam Cabin!
The
modular construction using durable lightweight ABS plastic panels
offers significant benefits over more traditional tiled rooms:
ECONOMICAL
- Superb insulation means lower power generator, usually less than
half the kW required for conventional steam rooms
CLEAN & HYGIENIC - continuous smooth white
panels are easy to keep clean and sideline worries over dirty grout,
cracked tiles etc.
CONVENIENT & COMFORTABLE - ready for use in
10 to 15 minutes, the plastic moulded seats are warm and cleverly
shaped to double as a bench for complete relaxation
SELF-CONTAINED & HASSLE FREE - As Roma is a
free standing structure, you have only to provide the space and
a drained floor for HELO to assemble your steam room with the minimum
of fuss. The exterior may then be finished in the décor of
your choice.
Roma rooms are offered in a variety of sizes suited to domestic
situations - our 1.6m square and 2m x 1 m models, seating four in
comfort are particularly popular - and you have the assurance that
HELO provides the complete package: all panels and fixings, a quality
safety glass door, steam generator with controls, low voltage lighting
and vent outlet - with installation by our own fitting team.

Helo
Domestic Steam Kit
For many, the idea of installing a Turkish Steam facility at home
- to capture the unique pleasure of steam bathing in hotels and
clubs - may seem daunting. In fact using HELO's steam kit to upgrade
a regular shower, it could hardly be simpler! Over the past 15 years,
many thousands of customers have taken this easy route to a luxury
leisure facility in the bathroom:
Fit
a steam generator in the loft or suitable cupboard - rest a purpose
made acrylic dome on the shower frame - fix a fold up seat to the
shower wall.
What
you will need:
- Regular
shower tray - acrylic, steel or ceramic - in shape and size of
your choice. When mounted 300mm above rim, steam outlet will not
affect this. An optional "Weep Box" is available to
catch drips and prevent marking the tray.
- Shower
door/enclosure of your choice - a sealed door is not appropriate,
since a little steam escaping helps ventilate the steam room.
Fit an extractor in the bathroom as you would for a normal shower.
The shower door will need a frame for the dome to rest on. Some
shower brochures note which models are tested for steam.
- Shower
enclosure built with backer board - WEDI or similar - and tiled
surface with good quality grout. Better still, use Helo Shower
Wall boards which will reduce heat up time, remove worries about
grout discolouration and simplify fitting out.
- Site
for steam generator - usually the loft where you can link to cold
water main, suitable electric supply and pipe a standard 22mm
copper pipe to the steam outlet head.
What we provide:
- Fully
automatic steam generator with scale resistant elements and low
water level protection.
- Controls
to mount within the shower: ON/OFF safety button, LED for built
in 25 minutes time and thermostat control with digital readout
(NT model)
- Acrylic
steam dome with perimeter flange to trim to exact size and fixing
brackets for shower walls. Clear or Opaque finish.
- Fold
up seat in polycarbonate or wood finish with neat wall brackets
and tested to maximum weight 16 stone (subject to wall fixing)

Domestic Sauna
For Finns, sauna is a way of life - from early times, sauna was
the key room in any Finnish household - once used for cleaning,
curing illness and even delivering babies, this form of bathing
has become best known for relaxing the body and mind and for the
ultimate sense of well-being which it imparts.
The
concept is simple - a timber-lined room is heated to a temperature
of 75 to 80°C; where normally such heat would be uncomfortable,
in sauna, the wood absorbs the moisture and the dry atmosphere
is pleasant for short periods, promoting heavy perspiration, opening
the pores and deep cleansing the skin. Time spent in the heat
is interspersed with an invigorating cold shower or plunge and
enhanced by “loyly” - the Finnish term for sprinkling
a little water on the hot rock, raising the humidity and creating
a “wave” of heat which heightens the sense of relaxation
and contentment. A period of rest following bathing consolidates
the rewards of the sauna and is a social time to enjoy with family
or friends.

are a few examples from our wide range.

Original
Sauna
Original Sauna is Helo’s traditional home sauna line; offered
in the most popular sizes and with fixed layout, there is no compromise
in build quality. Carefully selected kiln dried Spruce panelling
with Helo’s unique “softline” profile is used
on all surfaces, discreetly pinned to a strong, insulated frame
with foil vapour barrier. Interior furniture, including benches,
duckboard and heater guard, is cool, splinter-free Abachi wood,
and the classic Finnish heater has convenient built-in controls
with up to 23kg rock for generous steam. The door is traditional
Finnish timber framed with 3 glazed panels for a light airy interior.
SoftHot
Sauna
Built to the same high standards as Original sauna, the SOFTHOT
model includes a number of useful enhancements, in particular Helo’s
Softhot heater (4.5kW and above) with convenient side mounted controls,
an extra deep rock tray for plentiful steam and optional floor stand,
offering greater versatility.
SOFTHOT
is supplied from stock in 44 standard sizes and may be further modified
as required by our fitters during assembly.
Bathroom
Sauna
With overall size around 1 metre square and corner safety glass
door, this sauna could be included in nearly any bathroom - indeed
when fitted opposite a popular “Penta” style shower
enclosure no more room is required than for a luxury bath! The smart
Knotless Pine panelling will blend with light bathroom furniture
or may be stained or painted to suit alternative finishes.
At 3kW the heater is wired to the ring main via a fused spur - choose
between standard compact heater with easy, side mounted controls
or optional Junior model with low voltage touch pad operation. A
Bathroom Sauna Type II with similar specification but overall size
1.5 metres square is also available to special order.
